Ketoprofen 2.5% Topical is a pain relieving gel used to relieve pain and inflammation from soft tissue injuries, sprains and muscle strains. It is for external use only and should not be applied on damaged skin.
Indications
- Symptomatic relief of mild to moderate local pain associated with muscle and/or joint injuries (including sports injuries)
- Pain from soft tissue injuries, sprains and muscle strains
Dosage
Adult Dose:
- Apply 2-3 times daily to the affected area
- The amount should cover the painful area
- Maximum daily dose: 15 grams
- Treatment duration: No longer than 1 week
- Massage into the skin for a few minutes
Child Dose: Safety and efficacy not established.
Side effects
Uncommon Side Effects:
- Erythema at application site
- Pruritus
- Eczema
- Nausea (rare)
Rare Side Effects:
- Photoallergic reactions
- Dermatitis
- Urticaria
Precautions & warnings
- Do not use on damaged or infected skin
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
- Protect treated area from sunlight or UV rays
- Avoid sun exposure during treatment and for 2 weeks after
- Discontinue use if any skin reaction develops
