Cefetamet Pivoxil Hydrochloride is a 3rd generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ear, nasal sinus, throat, and some sexually transmitted diseases.
Indications
- Bacterial infections
- Respiratory tract infections (including pneumonia)
- Urinary tract infections
- Ear infections
- Nasal sinus infections
- Throat infections
- Sexually transmitted diseases
Dosage
Adult Dose: 500 mg twice daily.
Child Dose (over 12 years): 500 mg twice daily.
Child Dose (under 12 years): 10 mg/kg twice daily.
40 kg (approximately over 12 years): 500 mg twice daily.

Precautions & warnings
- [SAFE] Cefetamet Pivoxil Hydrochloride does not usually affect your ability to drive.
- Your doctor has prescribed Cefetamet Pivoxil Hydrochloride to cure your infection and improve your symptoms. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection harder to treat.
- Discontinue Cefetamet Pivoxil Hydrochloride and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
- Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it does not stop or if you find blood in your stools.
- Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
- Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Cefetamet Pivoxil Hydrochloride as it may cause increased side effects.
