Guaifenesin + Levomenthol + Diphenhydramine

Introduction: Guaifenesin + Levomenthol + Diphenhydramine is a combination syrup used for relief of cough, associated congestive symptoms and aiding restful sleep.

How it works: Guaifenesin reduces the viscosity of tenacious sputum and is used as an expectorant. Levomenthol has mild local anesthetic and decongestant properties. Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride possesses antitussive, antihistaminic, and anticholinergic properties.

Important Information: Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) 4 times a day. Do not take more than 8 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours.

Expectorant + Antihistamine + Decongestant

Oral syrup. Can be taken with or without food. Take in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular schedule.

Common Side Effects:

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Dry mouth
• Gastro-intestinal disturbance
• Difficulty in urination
• Blurred vision

Precautions:

• May cause drowsiness - do not drive or operate machinery
• Do not take with narrow-angle glaucoma or symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy
• Do not use for persistent or chronic cough such as asthma or cough with excessive secretions
• Do not use in patients who have received MAOIs within last two weeks

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to the product or any of its components
• Patients who have received MAOIs within last two weeks

Drug Interactions:

• May potentiate effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants
• Effects of anticholinergics (psychotropic drugs, atropine) may be potentiated

Food Interactions:

• Alcohol may increase drowsiness and CNS depression

Use in Pregnancy: Use with caution during pregnancy. Not associated with adverse effects in human fetus or suckling infant.

Use in Lactation: Use with caution during breastfeeding.

Pediatric Use: Efficacy and safety in pediatric patients and adolescents have not been established.

Geriatric Use: Use as per doctor's advice for elderly patients.

Renal & Hepatic Impairment: No known restrictions. However, consult your doctor.

Overdose: Guaifenesin may cause renal calculi when taken in excess. Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.

Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
