Indications
- Zinc, Iron, Folic Acid and Vitamin B Complex deficiency (especially during pregnancy and lactation)
Therapeutic class
Iron & Vitamin Combined preparations
Pharmacological class
Iron Polymaltose + Folic Acid + Zinc + B-Complex
Pharmacology
Iron Polymaltose Complex is a water soluble, macromolecular complex of polynuclear iron (III) hydroxide and partially hydrolysed dextrin. It does not interact with food components and other medications, so bioavailability is not decreased. Folic acid prevents neural tube defects. Zinc is essential for many metabolic processes, blood formation, wound healing and immune system. Vitamin B complex is essential for functioning of nervous and digestive systems.
Mechanism of action
Iron Polymaltose Complex facilitates controlled iron absorption and faster utilization in haemoglobin synthesis; Folic acid prevents neural tube defects; Zinc supports blood formation and immune system; Vitamin B complex maintains nervous and digestive system function.
