Description
Lidocaine is an amide type local anesthetic that stabilizes neuronal membranes and inhibits Na+ ion movements necessary for impulse conduction. Tolperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that effectively reduces muscular hypertonicity, improves peripheral blood flow by vasodilatation, and reduces pain.
Indications
- Increased skeletal muscle tone due to organic neurological disorders (pyramidal tract injury, multiple sclerosis, myelopathy, encephalomyelitis)
- Muscular hypertension, muscular spasm, muscular contracture, rigidity
- Obliterative vascular diseases (obliterative arteriosclerosis, diabetic angiopathy, thromboangitis, Raynaud's disease, diffuse scleroderma)
- Post-thrombotic venous and lymphatic circulation disorders, crural ulcer

Pharmacology
Lidocaine stabilizes neuronal membranes to block impulse conduction. Tolperisone centrally reduces muscular hypertonicity, improves blood flow through vasodilatation, and reduces pain.

Relaxes muscles, improves blood flow, and reduces pain.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Intramuscular):
- Usual dose: One ampoule twice daily
- Injection should be given slowly
- Dosage may be changed according to age and symptoms
Administration
- Given as intramuscular injection by a doctor or nurse
- Inject slowly
Missed dose
Not generally applicable (professionally administered); consult doctor if needed.
Side effects

Precautions & warnings
- In children, the prescribed dose and treatment duration should be closely observed
- Do not use in patients with myasthenia gravis
- Do not use in nursing mothers
- Do not use if allergic to any component
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
- Myasthenia gravis
- Nursing mother
Drug interactions
- May increase serum levels with cimetidine and propranolol
- Increased risk of cardiac depression with beta-blockers and other antiarrhythmics
- Additive cardiac effects with IV phenytoin
- Hypokalaemia caused by acetazolamide, loop diuretics, and thiazides may antagonise effect of lidocaine
- Dose requirements may increase with long-term use of phenytoin and other enzyme-inducers
