Description
This cream is a combination of Neomycin, Polymyxin B and Pramoxine HCl. Neomycin is bactericidal for many gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. It is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by binding with ribosomal RNA. Polymyxin B is bactericidal for a variety of gram-negative organisms. Pramoxine is an external analgesic that provides temporary relief of pain or discomfort.

Pharmacology
Neomycin binds to 30S ribosomal subunit to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. Polymyxin B interacts with phospholipid components of bacterial membrane to produce bactericidal effect. Pramoxine provides local anesthetic effect to relieve pain.
Mechanism of action
Prevents infection by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and provides local pain relief.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Clean affected area
- Apply small amount (equal to tip of finger) on area
- 1-3 times daily
Pediatric Dose (2 years+): Apply 1-3 times daily
Administration
- For external use only
- Clean affected area before application
- May be covered with sterile bandage
- Do not use in eyes
- Do not use on large areas
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next dose; do not double the dose.

Precautions & warnings
- Possibility of ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity and exogenous hyperadrenocorticism if used in large quantities or on large areas for prolonged use
- Do not use longer than one week unless directed by physician
- Do not use in external eardrum if tympanic membrane is perforated
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides and any components
- Pre-existing nerve deafness
- TB, fungal or viral infections
