Description
Rabeprazole is a PPI that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting H+/K+ ATPase. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine-receptor blocker that increases esophageal peristalsis, enhances gastroduodenal coordination, and facilitates gastric emptying.

Pharmacology
Rabeprazole suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting H+/K+ ATPase. Domperidone blocks peripheral dopamine receptors, increasing esophageal peristalsis, enhancing gastroduodenal coordination, and facilitating gastric emptying, relieving acid reflux and indigestion.
Mechanism of action
Inhibits acid secretion and increases gastric motility.
Dosage
Adult Dose (>12 years):
- 1 capsule/tablet once daily (on empty stomach)
- Treatment duration: 4-8 weeks
Administration
- Take on an empty stomach (before meals)
- Swallow tablet whole; do not chew, crush, or break
- Take at the same time each morning
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next dose; do not double the dose.

Precautions & warnings

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to substituted benzimidazoles
- Prolactinoma
- Severe hepatic impairment
- GI hemorrhage
- Mechanical obstruction or perforation
Drug interactions
- Warfarin, cyclosporine, ketoconazole, ritonavir, erythromycin: Monitor for increase in INR and prothrombin time
Food interactions
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Rabeprazole + Domperidone.
