Description
Salicylic Acid 16.7% + Lactic Acid 16.7% is a topical solution. Salicylic acid solubilizes the intercellular cement of the stratum corneum, causing desquamation and destruction of the epithelium. Lactic acid affects the keratinization process, reducing hyperkeratosis, and has a caustic effect that destroys hyperkeratotic tissue.

Pharmacology
Salicylic acid solubilizes the intercellular cement of the stratum corneum, causing desquamation of the epithelium. Lactic acid affects the keratinization process, reducing hyperkeratosis, and destroys hyperkeratotic tissue through its caustic effect.
Mechanism of action
Modifies keratinization and destroys hyperkeratotic tissue to treat warts, corns, and calluses.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Soak affected area in hot water for 5 minutes
- Rub with pumice stone or emery board to remove dead skin
- Apply with brush applicator once daily to the affected area
- Allow to dry; cover with plaster if lesion is large
- Treatment period: 6-12 weeks (until completely cleared)
Administration
- For external use only
- Apply directly to the affected area; avoid healthy skin
- Wash hands with soap and water before and after use
- Allow each drop to dry before applying the next
Missed dose
If you miss an application, apply at the next scheduled time.
Side effects
Common Side Effects (Very Common):
- Application site reaction, pruritus, burning sensation, erythema, scaling, dryness
- Skin hypertrophy (Common)

- Prolonged use over large areas may cause salicylate toxicity (tinnitus, diarrhea, vomiting)
Precautions & warnings
- Do not use on open wounds, irritated or reddened skin, or infected areas
- Do not use on face, eyes, mucous membranes, or anogenital region
- Do not use on moles, birthmarks, or unusual skin growths
- Use with caution in diabetes, circulatory problems, or peripheral neuropathy under medical supervision
- Avoid use in children or teenagers during chickenpox, influenza, or other viral infections
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to salicylic acid, lactic acid, or any excipient
- Open wounds, irritated or reddened skin, infected areas
- Face, anogenital region, moles, birthmarks, mucous membranes
Drug interactions
- May increase absorption of other topically applied medicines; avoid concomitant use
- Interaction with systemically administered medicines is not anticipated
Food interactions
Alcohol consumption is not relevant (topical application).

Overdose effects
Excessive topical use may cause burning; ingestion may cause nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain; administer copious water and antacids.
