Description

Introduction: Vasakarista is an herbal cough syrup that liquefies phlegm, soothes irritation of the throat and helps to relieve hoarseness. It is a remedy for all types of cough such as dry irritable cough, allergic & smokers cough.

How it works: Adhatoda vasica (Basok) relieves cough & bronchial spasm and liquefies mucous. Piper longum (Pipul) relieves cold allergy & asthma. Glycyrrhiza glabra (Jashthi Modhu) relieves irritation of throat and enhances the immune system.

Important Information: Children under 12 years: 5-10 ml 2-3 times daily. Adults: 15 ml 2-3 times daily. May be taken with warm water for better results.

Pharmacology

Adhatoda vasica (Basok) relieves cough & bronchial spasm and liquefies mucous. Piper longum (Pipul) relieves cold allergy & asthma. Glycyrrhiza glabra (Jashthi Modhu) relieves irritation of throat and enhances the immune system. Piper nigrum (Marich) is fungistatic, bacteriostatic & anti-inflammatory. Zingiber officinale (Shunthi) is antihistaminic and very effective in common cold. Terminalia chebula (Haritaki) removes toxin from the body. Tulsi extract & other ingredients are added for relieving acute cough.

Mechanism of action

Adhatoda vasica liquefies mucus and relieves bronchospasm, Piper longum reduces allergies and Glycyrrhiza glabra soothes throat irritation.

Dosage

Children under 12 years:

  • 1-2 teaspoonful (5-10 ml) 2-3 times a day

Adults:

  • 3 teaspoonful (15 ml) 2-3 times a day

For better results:

  • Some warm water may be added

Administration

Oral syrup. Can be taken with or without food. May be taken with warm water for better results.
