Pharmacology
Zinc: Cofactor in over 100 enzymes; plays a role in DNA synthesis; supports a healthy immune system; helps maintain a sense of smell and taste; may assist in proper function of insulin. B-Vitamins are needed to release energy from food.
Mechanism of action
Zinc and B vitamins support normal growth, development, and body function.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral Syrup):
- 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician
Child Dose (Oral Syrup):
- Children: 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) 1 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician
- Infants: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 1 to 2 times daily or as recommended by the physician
Adult & Children over 30 kg (Oral Tablet):
- 1 to 2 tablets 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician
Administration
- Take as directed by a physician
- Swallow tablets whole
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; if almost time for next dose, skip it; do not double the dose.

Common Side Effects:
- Generally well tolerated
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea & stomach upset may occur
Precautions & warnings
- In acute renal failure, zinc accumulation may occur, so dosage adjustment is needed
- This is not intended for the treatment of severe specific deficiencies
Contraindications
- Patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this product
Drug interactions
- Tetracyclines and zinc: may decrease GI absorption and serum levels of tetracyclines
- Zinc and fluoroquinolones: may decrease GI absorption and serum levels of some fluoroquinolones
- Niacin and HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (lovastatin): may result in myopathy and rhabdomyolysis
- Pyridoxine and levodopa: reduces levodopa's effectiveness
- Pyridoxine and phenytoin: may decrease serum levels of phenytoin

Overdose effects
