Dosage

Side effects
Common: Febrile response, infection at injection site, venous thrombosis/phlebitis, extravasation, hypervolemia.
Serious: Severe burning, pain, swelling around IV needle; warmth, redness, oozing, bleeding; fever, ongoing cough.
Precautions & warnings
Caution in congestive heart failure, peripheral/pulmonary edema, impaired renal function, pre-eclampsia. Monitor serum glucose in diabetic patients (insulin may be needed). Do not use if solution is cloudy, contains particles, or expired.
