Ibuprofen Gel is a topical NSAID used for muscle and joint pain, sprains, arthritis and sports injuries.
Indications
- Rheumatic pain
- Joint pain
- Muscle pain
- Back pain
- Sprains and strains
- Sports injury
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Gently massage a small amount into affected area 3-4 times daily
- Use 1-4 cm each time
- Do not use more often than every 4 hours
- Do not use for more than 2 weeks without medical advice
Child Dose: For patients over 14 years; safety and efficacy not established in children under 14 years
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Mild redness at application site
- Itching
- Burning
Occasional: Unexplained wheezing, shortness of breath, blisters or rash, itching, redness or bruising of skin, swelling of face
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Caution if allergic to aspirin/NSAIDs or if asthmatic
- Avoid heavy use over large areas
- Apply with gentle massage only
- Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and inflamed or broken skin
- Discontinue if rash develops
- Not for use with occlusive dressings
- Caution in kidney problems or stomach ulcer
- Avoid getting near eyes, lips, nostrils, genital areas; if accidental, wash with plenty of water
