Fluticasone Propionate Inhalation is a steroid used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny nose, sneezing and sinus discomfort.
Indications
- Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Asthma prophylaxis
Dosage
Adult Dose (Asthma prophylaxis):
- Powder or aerosol inhaler: 100 mcg bid in mild asthma, up to 500-1,000 mcg bid in severe cases.
- Nebuliser suspension (16+ years): 0.5-2 mg twice daily. Initial dose: 2 mg twice daily.
Child Dose (4-16 years):
- 50-100 mcg bid, increased to 200 mcg bid if necessary.
- Under 4 years: Safety and efficacy not established.
- Nebuliser suspension (4-16 years): 1 mg twice daily.

Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Nasal irritation
- Nosebleeds
- Headache
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Avoid in patients with recent nasal ulcers, nasal surgery, or nasal trauma.
- Do not use for primary treatment of status asthmaticus or acute bronchospasm.
- Long-term use may require regular medical tests.
