Myosit Plus150 mg+550 mg

Myosit Plus 150 mg+550 mg is a tablet manufactured by Renata PLC in Bangladesh. Its active ingredient is D-chiro-inositol + Myo-inositol.

Indications

• Myosit Plus tablet is indicated for the treatment and prevention of-
• Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) associated symptoms such as menstrual irregularity, anovulation, hirsutism, acanthosis nigricans, acne, obesity and PCOS associated infertility
• Gestational diabetes mellitus
• Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome
• Infertility
• Miscarriage

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to D-chiro-inositol and Myo-inositol.

Pharmacology

D-chiro-inositol is a naturally occurring inositol isomer extracted by a patented process from Carob (Ceratonia siliqua) pod native to Southern Europe. The perfect combination of D-chiro-inositol and Myo-inositol with a specific ratio may help to correct the hormonal imbalance and menstrual cycle to achieve ovulation. This combination significantly decreases the level of prolactin hormone, testosterone hormone, luteinizing hormone and also balances the ratio of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. It increases insulin sensitivity, estrogen hormone level and reduces oxidative stress within the ovarian follicles. It helps in follicular development, improves egg quality, and restores ovulation in women to enhance the chances of pregnancy. It helps to prevent the onset of gestational diabetes mellitus. It also reduces symptoms associated with PCOS and improves fertility in women with PCOS.

Dosage & Administration

Orally 2 tablets daily or as advised by the physician. Duration of treatment should be at least 3 months or as advised by the physician.

Interaction

Concurrent use with digoxin may result in increased digoxin toxicity. Concomitant use of D-chiro-inositol and Myo-inositol may potentiate the effect of antidiabetic drugs.

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated in the recommended dose. Occasionally may occur nausea, diarrhea and flatulence.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Several human studies have been conducted in pregnant women with D-chiro-inositol and Myo-inositol combination that show no clinically relevant adverse effects. There are no published clinical data on the safety of D-chiro-inositol and Myo-inositol during lactation.

Precautions & Warnings

Limited data is available regarding the usage in patients with liver & hepatic impairment. Patient should consult with doctor if the patient has a liver or hepatic impairment or any concerns regarding this.
