• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS-C, IBS-D & IBS-A)

Adult Dose (Oral):

• One sachet in the morning and one in the evening (half an hour before a meal with one glass of water)
• An additional sachet may be taken before the midday meal if necessary

Child Dose (>12 years):

• One sachet in the morning and one in the evening (half an hour before a meal with one glass of water)
• An additional sachet may be taken before the midday meal if necessary

Child Dose (<12 years): Safety & Efficacy not established

Side Effects:

• Flatulence or bloating
• Allergic skin reaction including skin rash with itching
• Anaphylaxis (rare)
• Mild abdominal discomfort (first few days)

Use in Pregnancy: Ispaghula Husk is not absorbed into bloodstream and does not pass into breast milk, but Mebeverine Hydrochloride is absorbed and passes through breast milk; should not be used during pregnancy unless considered essential by physician.

Precautions:

• To be taken into consideration by patients on a controlled sodium diet
• To be taken into consideration by patients with reduced kidney function or patients on a controlled potassium diet
• Acute porphyria, Elderly, Pregnancy
• Do not take without water
• Each dose should be stirred into a glass of water before taking

Overdose: Abdominal discomfort and flatulence may occur; drink plenty of water.
