Pharmacology
Ketoconazole is an azole antifungal that interacts with 14-α-sterol demethylase, a cytochrome P-450 enzyme necessary for the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. It inhibits ergosterol synthesis and increases fungal cell membrane permeability. Zinc Pyrithione is an antifungal and antibacterial agent that works against microorganisms causing dandruff. Aloe vera is a natural ingredient that soothes and moisturizes the scalp.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Use twice weekly, or as prescribed by a doctor
- Apply sufficient shampoo to wet hair and scalp to produce enough lather
- Massage for 2 minutes, then rinse with water
Child Dose: No specific data; use as directed by physician
