Multivitamin-Multimineral A-Z preparations for Juniors is used as a daily multivitamin maintenance dosage for infants and children aged up to 11 years receiving parenteral nutrition.

Indications
  • Daily vitamin maintenance for children up to 11 years receiving parenteral nutrition
  • Surgery, extensive burns, fractures and other trauma
  • Severe infectious diseases
  • Comatose states
Dosage

Pediatric Dose (Syrup):

  • Infants up to 1 year: 1 teaspoon daily
  • Children 1-4 years: 1-2 teaspoons daily
  • Children 4-12 years: 2-3 teaspoons daily
  • Adults: 3-4 teaspoons daily

Pediatric Dose (IV):

  • <1 kg: Daily dose 30% (1.5 ml)
  • 1-3 kg: Daily dose 65% (3.25 ml)
  • 3 kg+ to 11 years: Daily dose 5 ml
Side effects

Side Effects:

  • Generally well tolerated
  • Rare anaphylactic reactions
  • Anaphylactic reactions with large IV thiamine doses (risk negligible if co-administered with other B vitamins)
  • Rash, erythema, pruritus, headache, dizziness, agitation, anxiety, diplopia, urticaria, shortness of breath, angioedema
Precautions & warnings
  • Do not use in over dosage
  • Caution with warfarin sodium-type anticoagulant therapy (contains Vitamin K)
  • Large doses or oral/parenteral vitamin E supplementation not recommended
  • Additional vitamin A may be required in low birth weight infants
  • Polysorbates associated with E-Ferol syndrome in low birth weight infants
