Eflornithine Hydrochloride Monohydrate is a medicine used for treatment of excessive facial hair growth (facial hirsutism). It slows down the growth of unwanted hair around the lips or under the chin. Eflornithine Hydrochloride Monohydrate is for external use only. Apply the cream on freshly cleaned and dried skin or as directed by the doctor. You must wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as it will not clear your condition faster and some side effects may be increased. Common side effects include acne, itching, skin redness, hair loss, burning discomfort, stinging sensation, dry skin, rash, irritation, and hair follicle inflammation. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Avoid direct contact of the cream or ointment with your eyes. In case of direct contact, wash your eyes with water and seek immediate medical attention. Do not discontinue the treatment without consulting your physician as the hair growth may resume after stopping the treatment. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. Eflornithine Hydrochloride Monohydrate stops the activity of a chemical involved in the production of hair on the face.

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

If you miss a dose of Eflornithine Hydrochloride Monohydrate, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Do not wash the affected area within 4 hours of application of the cream. Do not apply make-up or sunscreen on the affected area for at least 5 minutes after application of eflornithine cream. Apply the cream on freshly cleaned and dried skin as directed by the physician. Keep an interval of 8 hours between each application of cream. Avoid contact of the cream with the eyes or nose or any other part of the body other than the intended area. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any discomfort e.g. irritation with use of the eflornithine cream Do not discontinue the treatment without consulting your physician as the hair growth may resume after stopping the treatment. Donot take if allergic to eflornithine or to any ingredient in the medicine. Do not consume if Pregnant or breastfeeding women or women below 18 years of age.
