Professor Dr. Amin Lutful Kabir is a distinguished academic and  haematologist with over 20 years of dedicated practice at Delta Hospital Limited, Dhaka, alongside his current role as Professor of Haematology at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Holding postgraduate qualifications of M.Phil and FCPS (Haematology), he brings comprehensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of both malignant and non-malignant haematological diseases, encompassing acute leukaemias (AML and ALL),  Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasms including CML, myelofibrosis,  PRV, ET with proficiency in complex chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy protocols, as well as the management of haematological emergencies including febrile neutropenia, tumour lysis syndrome, and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). In non-malignant haematology, his clinical practice spans thalassaemia, sickle cell disease, aplastic anaemia, autoimmune haemolytic anaemia, immune thrombocytopenic purpura, haemophilia A and B, von Willebrand disease, and thrombotic microangiopathies including TTP and HUS. He is highly skilled in bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy, peripheral blood film and bone marrow morphology interpretation, flow cytometry-based immunophenotyping, intrathecal chemotherapy, and clinical transfusion medicine, and has led the clinical development of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT/BMT) services in Bangladesh. Professor Kabir has also been instrumental in establishing haemophilia care programmes, including the national emicizumab prophylaxis initiative, and is a key contributor to haematology policy, including the Bangladesh National BMT/HSCT Policy framework. A prolific researcher with over 59 peer-reviewed publications, he is an active member of the Haematology Society of Bangladesh (HSB) and the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH), and remains deeply committed to advancing haematology education, research, and patient care across Bangladesh.
