Dr. Kazi Shabbir Anwar

Dr.Shabbir did his clinical fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus, from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada 1998-1999 He also did two short term Pre fellowship training at Colorado Health Science, Colorado, USA 1996 and at Institute of Child Health, London1997 in the field of paediatric eye care and Adult strabismus. For Cataract IOL Microsurgery and Phaco he did fellowship training at Islamia Eye Hospital.

Being a paediatric ophthalmologist trained from North America in Bangladesh He has working experience in the field for over 15 years. So far he has performed over 5000 paediatric cataract surgery to restore sight in children. His field of interest are Retinopathy of prematurity, Cataract ,Squint in children & adult , eye problem in Neuro-developmental disorder and Systemic diseases. He also does Phaco surgery for adults cataract and general ophthalmology practice for adults in addition.

Dr.Shabbir runs a sight restoration programme for children suffering from cataract at BEH for last seven years, which is absolutely free for poor children.

He was invited as Visiting International Faculty in Nepal in 2011 and to Srilankan Ophthalmological conference in 2012.

He has two International- Publication: and one National- so far

Dr Shabbir was awarded Gold medal in 2003 for the scientific paper titled “Ocular Defects In preterm and low birth weight Children in Bangladesh” from Ophthalmological society of Bangladesh.
