Dr. Sarabon Tahura is a medical graduate (MBBS) from Mymensingh Medical College and obtained her FCPS (Pediatrics) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeon (BCPS). Afterwards, she completed fellowship in Pediatric Bronchoscopy from Qilu Children Hospital under Shangdong University, China. She achieved fellowship ‘FCCP’ by American College of Chest Physicians, USA. She started her career in Dhaka Shishu Hospital (present name Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute) in 2006. At present she is working as an Associate Professor of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine at the same institute. She has attained advanced training and hands on workshops and acquired significant experience in Pediatrics, Pediatric Respiratory Medicine and Pediatric Interventional Pulmonology. She is highly competent in managing different respiratory diseases in children including chronic cough, pneumonia, recurrent respiratory tract infections, bronchiolitis, bronchitis, broncheal asthma, allergy, tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, immunodeficiency, ILD etc with updated knowledge and advanced latest technology. Dr. Sarabon Tahura is the 1st Pediatric Interventional Pulmonologist in Bangladesh, performing all basic & advanced bronchoscopic procedures in children and neonate. She has earned significant experience and expertise in pediatric bronchoscopy for foreign body removal from airway and other advanced interventions. In Bangladesh, she has pioneered several procedures in children including flexible bronchoscopy guided endobronchial tumor debulking, balloon bronchoplasty, endobronchial electro surgery, cryotherapy, APC. She is frequently invited as international faculty at conferences, meeting and bronchoscopy workshops in different countries across the world. She authored the book ‘Paediatric Bronchoscopy- learn the basic’ and several book chapters on pediatric bronchoscopy. A good number of articles have been published under her name in different national and international medical journals. She has been awarded in different international seminars.
