Dr. Shaila Kabir

Dr. Shaila Kabir is a Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetology at Evercare Hospital Chattogram. She obtained her MBBS from Chittagong Medical College and DEM from the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM), and was awarded FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK. She previously worked as Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at the School of Medicine, Central Asian University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and served for 12 years as Specialist in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and Academician at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the University of Sabah, Malaysia, where she was Head of the Department of Medicine from 2016 to 2018. She worked in Internal Medicine at Apollo Hospitals Dhaka (now Evercare Hospital Dhaka) from 2007 to 2010. She is a specialist in diabetes, thyroid, and other hormonal and metabolic diseases, with particular expertise in obesity and obesity-related complications. She has published over 20 papers in international journals, reviews for Scopus-indexed journals, and has received multiple international awards including the Academic Excellence Award from the University of Sabah, Malaysia.
