Dr. Tanzila Rafique

Dr. Tanzila Rafique is presently working as an Associate Professor at the Dept. of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka-1000. She is involved with the teaching of post-graduate students and faculty research activities at BSMMU. She was joined as a Medical Officer at the Faculty of Dentistry of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka-1000, at the year of 2007 She has been graduated from the Pioneer Dental College (Under the University of Dhaka), Malibagh, Bangladesh in 2006. She completed her FCPS Part-II training from the Department of Orthodontics of BSMMU, from 2007-2011 and received the FCPS degree from the Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS) in January 2011. She completed her MPH degree from the North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2013. Presently, she has been enrolled as Research Fellow of the PhD program of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 2020. She is actively involved with the teaching of post-graduate students admitted at BSMMU, Orthodontic treatments of patients, faculty research works, supervision of protocols, theses and dissertations of post-graduate students. She has 27 publications in national and international Peer-reviewed Journals. She has received training from ICDDR, B, on various courses including the advanced course on Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Qualitative research methodology etc. She is participating in the different ongoing faculty training, workshops, seminars conducted by the BSMMU on a regular basis. She received overseas trainings from USA under the Bio Research Associates.inc, on the uses and application methods T-scan, EMG, JVA and Jaw tracker. These instruments aid in modern diagnostics and treatment planning for patients having occlusion, myo-facial musculatures and TMJ disorders. These are the modern diagnostic and treatment planning methods presently used only at BSMMU in our country.
