Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam (Retd)

Maj. Gen. Prof.  Md.  Shahidul  Islam (Retd), MBBS, MCPS (Surgery), FCPS (Surgery), FCPS (Urology), FACS (USA), is a highly respected Urology Surgeon and medical academic in Bangladesh. He earned his MBBS, followed by MCPS and FCPS qualifications in both General Surgery and Urology. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and has pursued advanced specialty training in urology under international fellowships and programs .

After retiring as a Major General from the Bangladesh Army Medical Corps, Prof. Dr. Shahidul Islam held leadership positions as Professor and Head of the Department of Urology at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. He then went on to serve as Senior Consultant in Urology at Universal Medical College & Hospital Ltd., where he remains a pillar of the urology department .

His clinical expertise covers the full spectrum of urologic conditions: urinary stone disease, prostate enlargement, bladder dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, neural bladder disorders, male reproductive surgery, kidney and urethral reconstruction, penile pathology, cancer surgeries, and minimally invasive procedures via laparoscopic, endoscopic, and transurethral methods .
