Major General Professor Dr. Md. Shameem Haidar is a medical graduate from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College. A specialist in both Medicine and Rheumatology, he has completed FCPS (Medicine) from BCPS and attended Clinical Fellowship Training on Rheumatology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi).

He has a distinguished record of more than 30 years of service in the Bangladesh Armed Forces, which has included several dignified roles at CMH Bogura, Jashore, Chattogram & Dhaka. He has also served at the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces Hospital in the Central African Republic.

Dr. Haidar spent a number of years as the Assistant Personal Physician to the Honourable President at Bangabhaban. He also boasts extensive experience as a trainer, guiding students at both post-graduate and undergraduate levels at the Department of Rheumatology at Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka.

He specializes in treating and managing patients of SLE, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Other SpA’s, Psoriatic arthritis, Seronegative arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Gout, Systemic Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Dermatomyositis, Polymyositis, Sjögren’s syndrome, and many other Rheumatological diseases.
