Prof. Col. Dr. Sohel Ahmed

Prof. Col. Dr. Sohel Ahmed is an MBBS and FCPS (Surgery) qualified General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with more than 23 years of experience in general surgery, colorectal surgery, laser proctology, and hospital administration. He currently serves as Senior Consultant, Department of General and Laparoscopic Surgery at Evercare Hospital Chattogram. A graduate of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College, he has served in Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) in Dhaka, Cumilla, Sylhet, and Chattogram, managing complex surgical cases and training future surgeons. He is a trainer and faculty member in laparoscopic surgery and has introduced minimally invasive techniques, including laser hemorrhoidopexy, in Bangladesh. His areas of expertise include general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, colorectal surgery, laser proctology, and the management of hemorrhoidal disease. Prof. Col. Dr. Sohel Ahmed has conducted research on office-based hemorrhoid banding and laser procedures for hemorrhoidopexy and has participated in national and international scientific conferences. He also served as Principal of Army Medical College Chattogram, contributing to medical education and surgical training.
