Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraf ul huq Kazal graduated from Rajshahi Medical College on 1988. After completing his internship, he had his post graduate training in Dhaka Medical College Hospital for 03 years. He obtained his post-graduation degree in Pediatric Surgery (MS) from Bangladesh Institute of Child Health (Dhaka Shishu Hospital) in 1999 January. He obtained his FACS (Fellow of American College of Surgeons) in 2003 and FICS (Fellow of International College of Surgeons in 2020. He completed his PhD in 2005. Prof. Ashraf has got working experience in King Khalid University Hospital which is an affiliated institution of King Saud University. He also has working experience in Australia where he got his certificate for burn management from ANZBA (Australia New Zealand Burn Association). He has got special interest in Pediatric Urology, Intersex disorder and Pediatric Laparoscopy. He received his training in both fields from home and abroad. He has been working as Professor and Head of the department of Pediatric Surgery in Dhaka Medical College Hospital since 2011 till date. His greatest achievement in his field is successful separation of multiple conjoined twins, gender assignment in children with sexual disorder and operating on children Laparoscopically as day care basis of both intra abdominal testis and inguinal hernia. He has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students since 2000. He conducts classes for both FCPS and MS students. He is also a Senate Member of the University of Dhaka and takes part in inspections of various medical colleges under Dhaka University. In addition, he is actively involved in research activities and has a total of 88 publications both at home and abroad.
