Professor Dr. Bishwajit Bhowmik: A Leading Interventional Radiologist in Bangladesh Professor Dr. Bishwajit Bhowmik is a distinguished interventional radiologist in Bangladesh, renowned for his expertise and contributions to the field. He earned his MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College in 1998 and subsequently completed his MD in Radiology & Imaging from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 2008. Dr. Bhowmik's career began in the government health sector, where he served in various hospitals across Bangladesh, including Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In 2010, he joined BSMMU as an Assistant Professor and started his private practice in Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Green Life Hospital Ltd. His pursuit of advanced training led him to Singapore General Hospital, where he completed a Hands-on Fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology in 2013. Further enhancing his expertise, Dr. Bhowmik completed a Post-graduate Course in Head & Neck Radiology from Harvard Medical School in 2016. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017 and then to Professor of Interventional Radiology at BSMMU in 2022. Dr. Bhowmik has been an active participant in numerous seminars and conferences, both domestically and internationally, where he has shared his knowledge as a speaker. His presentations include topics like the Masterclass on Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) in Malaysia. His clinical skills encompass a wide range of interventional procedures, including: Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for liver tumors Uterine artery embolization (UAE) Embolization of bleeding vessels Portal vein embolization Varicocele embolization Chemoport placement.
