One of Bangladesh's prominent psychiatrists, Prof. Dr. (Brig. Gen.) AHM Kazi Mostofa Kamal has more than 20 years of expertise in identifying and treating mental health issues. He is proficient in psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, crisis intervention, individual, group, and family psychotherapy. He is the senior psychiatrist and head of the department at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
Graduated from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Prof. Mostofa Kamal earned his FCPS in Psychiatry from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS). Later, he obtained further training in child and adolescent psychiatry from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
He has conducted a number of researches on treatment attitudes in patients with major depressive illness, bipolar depression, schizophrenia, and intentional self-harm. During his professional career, He worked in various psychiatric departments of CMH Dhaka, Bogura, Rangpur, and other locations. Prof. Mostofa Kamal is now also available as a Consultant in Psychiatry at Square Hospital.
