Prof. Dr. M. A. Rashid completed his graduation from Mymensingh Medical College under Dhaka University in 1986. After completing graduation he served in different government medical institutes and hospitals across the country under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He then dedicated himself in training and in 1996 he obtained his fellowship FCPS (Physical Medicine) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).

Dr. M. A. Rashid worked in BSMMU and Dhaka Medical College Hospital. In 1996 he joined NITOR (Pongu Hospital) as Assistant Professor and became Associate Professor in the year 2003. Then he worked as Associate Professor of Physical Medicine in Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital up to 2009. Later, Dr. M. A. Rashid joined as Professor and Vice Principal in Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College up to June, 2015. Then he performed as Principal and Professor of Physical Medicine in Mugda Medical College up to September, 2015. Now he is working as Director of Medical Education and Health Manpower Development, DhHS from September 2015.

Dr. M. A. Rashid visited Aga Khan Medical University in Pakistan, Bummungard Hospital in Thailand, Yangun Medical College, Myanmar and CMC, Vellore, India, USA, UK, Italy, Germany and France etc. to achieve higher knowledge in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Rashid possess more than 22 years of experience in the field of Physical Medicine.
