Prof. Dr. Md. Ayub Ali

Prof. Dr. Md. Ayub Ali is presently The Professor & Unit Chief, Plastic Surgery, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSSMU), Dhaka. Previously he was the Head, Department of Plastic Surgery, National Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), Dhaka. He started his professional career as Lecturer in the department of Anatomy, Dhaka Medical College in 1995. He completed FCPS (Surgery) from BCPS, Dhaka in Jan 1999 and obtained MS (Plastic Surgery) from Dhaka University in 2006. In 2006 he obtained Fellowship from Smile Train-USA, the largest Cleft Charity organization of the world, Jan 2007. He completed Fellowship in “Cleft & Craniofacial Surgery” from SR Medical University Chennai, India. He was also selected as “Training Fellow” in “Hand & Reconstructive Micro Surgery” in Ganga Hospital, India & was nominated as the life member of Indian Society for the Cleft lip Plate & Craniofacial Anomalies (ISCLP&CA) and also the life member of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI). He is the chief Plastic Surgeon and project Director (PD) of Smile Train (USA), at Chattagram Maa Shishu-O-General Hospital (CMSOGH) cleft project, Chittagong. He already performed more than 10,000 Congenital facial cleft surgeries and gifted new smiles to the poor patients. He was selected as International Scholar- 2015 by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), USA. He completed his advance training in Plastic Surgery in Taxas Children Hospital Houston & Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA under this Scholar Program. He was honored as Smile Train “global leader” in 2015 and Conferred as Smile Train ACPA (American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association) Scholar Awar-2020 from USA. Recently he obtained Honorary Doctorate Award (Doctor of Plastic Surgery) from Commonwealth University held at “Dubai Leadership Summit” as well as Honorary Master from London graduate school on the same date held in Dubai in October 2022.
