Obtained MBBS degree from Rajshahi Medical College under University of Rajshahi in 1978,Completed MRCP in Medicine in 1993 and obtained FRCP in Medicine in 2005 from Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (UK),Received extensive training on different disciplines of Renal Transplantation from Jeddah Kidney Centre and King Fahad Hospital Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Served in different institutions of home and abroad like Rajshahi Medical College, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), BIRDEM and Yanbu General Hospital, Madinah, under Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia | Worked in BIRDEM as Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Nephrology from 2001 to 2007 where he led 25 kidney transplantations | Thereafter joined in Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital and served as Professor of Nephrology from 2007 to 2008 | Served in Continental Hospital PLC as Consultant Nephrologist and Chief Transplant Coordinator from 2008 to 2017 leading 39 kidney transplantations | Worked in Asgar Ali Hospital Dhaka as Consultant in the Department of Nephrology from 2017 to 2018 | Before re-joining Continental Hospital PLC he was working in Impulse Hospital as Senior Consultant in the Department of Nephrology from 2018 to 2019
