Prof. Dr. Md. Zahedul Alam

Dr. Md. Zahedul Alam is a Senior Consultant at Asgar Ali Hospital, Gandaria, Dhaka, practising in ENT, Head and Neck Surgery.

Qualifications

• MBBS, DLO, MS (ENT)
• Senior Consultant – ENT, Head & Neck Surgery
• Prof. Dr. Md. Zahedul Alam has obtained his MBBS in 1980, subsequently done DLO in 1989 and MS (ENT) in 1996 from Dhaka University. He is the first person in Bangladesh who obtained MS degree in ENT.
• Prof. Alam worked in Sir Salimullah Medical College as Assistent Professor, ENT from 1997 to 2001. Later, he served the same institution as Associate Professor, ENT from 2001 to 2007.
• From 2007 to 2009, he served Comilla Medical College as Professor and Head of the Department, ENT.
• Afterwards, he joined again in Sir Salimullah Medical College and served as Professor and Head of the Department, ENT
• Prof. Alam was the Director of National Institute of ENT, Tejgaon, Dhaka from 2014 to 2015. He was the first Director to start the operation and activities of the institute.
• He has sixteen publications in different national & international journals. He has also participated in numerous National and International Scientific Conferences.
• Prof. Alam got trained in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS), Temporal Bone Dissection, Rhinoplasty from India and Head & Neck Surgery from Hongkong.
• Prior to joining Asgar Ali Hospital, he was at Dr. Sirajul Islam Medical College as Professor and Head of the Department, ENT and beside this he was Director of Dr. Sirajul Islam Medical College Hospital.
• Now Prof. Dr. Md. Zahedul Alam is working at Asgar Ali Hospital as Senior Consultant – ENT, Head & Neck Surgery and serving patient regularly.
