Dr. Md.  Abdullah Al Mamun is one of the most eminent Colorectal and Laparoscopic surgeons of Bangladesh. He is a reputed international faculty in Rectal and Colon Cancer, Rectal Prolapse, ODS (Obstructed Defecation Syndrome) treatment as well as laparoscopic Surgery. In Bangladesh, he pioneered  Mini Laparoscopic/Needlescopic  Cholecystectomy, Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) Needlescopic  Cholecystectomy, Appendicectomy, and Cosmetic Hernia surgery, gaining increasing popularity among the patients of square Hospital. 

He has successfully performed countless Hernia surgeries, which were complicated by previous open/conventional surgeries. Moreover, he applied PSR (Primary Sphincter Repair) Procedure on complex fistula patients who had been deceived several times in the name of multi-staged operations. He usually conducts laser surgery for Piles, Anal Fissures, Fistulas, and Pilonidal Sinuses. He is also proficient in Longo and Stapling Piles surgery.

Over two decades of experience, he is a Competent Surgeon in the field of Laparoscopy and Colorectal Surgery. He obtained his MBBS degree from Mymensingh Medical College. Later on, acquired professional training from Dhaka Medical  College. Mitford Hospital, Mymensingh Medical College &Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. Besides completing his FCPS in surgery, he also pursued MRCS degree from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He obtained prestigious fellowship in Colorectal Surgery and Minimal Access Surgery (MAS) from India. 

He has traveled around the world to take professional training and to attend international seminars and has presented more than 25 original medical articles at international workshops. He is a lifetime member of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia and honorable fellow of American College of Surgeons. He is an author of the book “Benign Anorectal  Disorders” published by Springer. Besides being an Associate Professor of Surgery at a renowned medical college hospital, he is currently serving as a part – time consultant at Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery department of Square Hospital Ltd.
