Dr. N I Bhuiyan graduated (MBBS) from Sir Salimullah Medical College and started his career as a Lecturer at Dinajpur Medical College. He worked in Dhaka Medical College Hospital in Surgery Department and later in Casualty Surgery Department. Subsequently, he enrolled as thesis student in the department of Urology in the same institute and obtained his MS (Urology).

Dr. N I Bhuiyan joined Bangladesh Medical College as Assistant Professor, Urology. He visited USA, Germany, Singapore, India and Thailand for extensive advanced training in Urology. He attained advanced course on Laparoscopic Urology from IRCARD, Taiwan and got advanced training on use of LASER in Urology from Germany. Dr. N I Bhuiyan was awarded Major Gen. K M Siraj Jinnat Memorial Gold Medal for innovative work on urology by Bangladesh Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS).

He presented many scientific papers in different international conferences in home and abroad. He has publications in national and international level.

Dr. Bhuiyan is the author of one chapter of Urology book (Principal and Practice of Urology, Second Edition, Editor M A Salam) & involve in medical education. He is also Professor & Head of the Department of Urology, Bangladesh Medical College, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
