Professor Dr. Harun Ur Rashid

Dr. Harun ur Rashid is working as an Professor of Ophthalmology at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, Dhaka. He is in private practice at Dhaka Eye Care Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka where he is serving as a head of Cataract & Phaco Surgery, Glaucoma, LASIK and Refractive Surgery services.

Dr. Harun is a Consultant LASIK Surgeon at Lasik Sight Center, Gulshan Dhaka. He has specialisesd in LASIK and phaco cataract surgery including toric & multifocal intraocular implantation, glaucoma, medical retina and laser surgery.

Dr Harun Ur Rashid received his MBBS from the Institute of Post Graduate Medicine Research (IPGMR), University of Dhaka in 1987. He holds the DO, Diploma in Ophthalmology in 1991 and MS, Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology in 1996 from IPGMR, University of Dhaka. He obtained Fellowship in Ophthalmology from Bangalore West Lions Eye Hospital, India in 1997.

Dr Harun utilizes the latest techniques and technology to ensure the highest standards of eye care. He is one of the top and leading cataract surgeons of Bangladesh and he is an exponent of no injection, no stitch, no blood, and no bandage phacoemulsification in the country. He has the credit of performing more than 20,000 phaco-emulsification cataract surgeries.

Dr. Harun is one of the pioneers in LASIK surgery in Bangladesh and he has a decade of experience in LASIK field. His reputation for remarkable results and personal attention has drawn patients from different parts of the world.

Along with his many credentials, Dr. Harun has attended many national and international conferences in ophthalmology as an invited speaker. Interested in research, He is the author of several journal publications and presentations to his credit in the national and international forum. Dr. Harun is also the recipient of numerous awards in his field.

Dr. Harun ur Rashid has been contributing as an educator in public health and eye awareness program in different satellite TV channels and print media.
