Professor Dr. Khalequzzaman Dipu

Dr. A.K.M. Khalequzzaman (Dipu) has consistently demonstrated academic and professional excellence throughout his career. He achieved second place in the SSC examination in Gazipur district in 1991, earning Star Marks from Tongi Pilot High School. In 1993, he successfully completed his HSC from Notre Dame College and joined Mymensingh Medical College in 1994, where he graduated with an MBBS degree in 2001. After completing his internship in 2002, he began preparing for higher studies.

In 2003, Dr. Khalequzzaman started his professional journey as a resident doctor in the orthopedic department at Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital. In 2014, he earned an MS in Orthopedic Surgery, the highest degree in the field in Bangladesh, from Dhaka Medical College. Promoted to registrar in 2015, he further advanced his expertise by completing a fellowship in arthroscopy and arthroplasty under the mentorship of renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rakesh Rajput at Fortis Hospital, India. Upon returning to Bangladesh, he specialized in knee ligament surgeries and total knee and hip replacements starting in 2017.

Dr. Khalequzzaman joined Universal Medical College in Dhaka as an assistant professor in the Orthopedic Surgery Department in 2020 and was promoted to associate professor in 2022. His academic contributions include five original research papers published in national and international journals.

Apart from his medical career, Dr. Khalequzzaman has been actively involved in various academic, literary, and social activities since his student days, including writing, debating, and community service. As a medical columnist, he has written extensively for newspapers, and currently, he frequently appears on television and radio programs, contributing to public health awareness.
