Professor Dr. Major Abdul Mannan (Retd.)

Prof. Dr. Major Abdul Mannan (Retd.), MBBS, PGC (Surgery), MS (Orthopaedics), is a veteran Orthopaedic, Trauma & Spine Surgeon in Bangladesh. He graduated with his MBBS from Sher‑E‑Bangla Medical College, Barisal, in 1980, completed his internship at IPGM&R (now BSMMU), and earned his PGC in Surgery through the Army Faculty of Military Medicine (AFMI) before obtaining an MS in Orthopaedics from NITOR in January 1998 .

Dr. Mannan served with distinction in the Army Medical Corps from 1986 onward, working across several Combined Military Hospitals (CMHs) and advancing to Graded Surgical Specialist status. He has received comprehensive training in acute and chronic trauma management, joint replacement (knee & hip), arthroscopic surgery, and spinal procedures, including fellowships in Arthroscopy, Joint Replacement & Spine Surgery in India .

Currently, Prof. Dr. Major Abdul Mannan (Retd.) practices as Senior Consultant in Orthopaedics, Trauma & Spine Surgery at Asgar Ali Hospital, Dhaka, and serves as a Professor of Orthopaedics at Sher‑E‑Bangla Medical College and Hospital. He has authored several national and international journal publications and is a committed educator who has participated in numerous conferences and trauma courses .
