Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Islam

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Islam, MBBS, MS (Thoracic Surgery), is a distinguished thoracic and cardiothoracic surgeon in Bangladesh, with over 25 years of experience in the field. He holds an MBBS degree and a Master of Surgery (MS) in Thoracic Surgery. Currently, he serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), Dhaka.

Dr. Kamrul Islam specializes in a wide range of thoracic and cardiothoracic procedures, including surgeries for lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumors, chest trauma, and various benign chest conditions. He is adept in both traditional open surgeries and minimally invasive techniques such as video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS). In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kamrul Islam is actively involved in medical education and research. He has contributed to numerous publications in recognized medical journals and has been a faculty member for postgraduate courses in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at Dhaka University and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University
