Beclomethasone Dipropionate + Neomycin + Clotrimazole is a combination ear drop effective against mixed ear infections. It is used to treat otitis externa and other bacterial and fungal ear infections.

Beclomethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching; Neomycin is an antibiotic that stops bacterial growth; Clotrimazole is an antifungal that stops fungal growth. Together, they effectively treat infections while soothing irritation and swelling.

Usually, 2-3 drops are applied to the affected ear 2-3 times daily.

Pharmacology

Beclomethasone Dipropionate is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of inflammatory mediators (prostaglandins), reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Neomycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, stopping bacterial growth. Clotrimazole is an antifungal that disrupts fungal cell wall formation, stopping fungal growth.

Mechanism of action

Beclomethasone reduces inflammation and itching, Neomycin stops bacterial growth, and Clotrimazole stops fungal growth. Together, they work synergistically to effectively treat mixed infections.

Dosage

Dosage: 2-3 drops in the affected ear 2-3 times daily.

Duration: Usually 7-14 days, as directed by the physician.

Not recommended for patients under 12 years of age.

Administration

Shake the bottle well before use. Tilt your head to one side and place the drops in the ear canal. Keep your head tilted for 2-3 minutes to allow the drops to soak in. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface. Wash your hands before and after use.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
