Beclomethasone Dipropionate + Neomycin + Clotrimazole is a combination ear drop used for the treatment of bacterial and fungal ear infections. It contains anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and antifungal agents.
Indications
- Otitis externa
- Mixed bacterial and fungal ear infections
- Chronic suppurative otitis media
- Ear inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching
Pharmacology
Beclomethasone Dipropionate is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of inflammatory mediators (prostaglandins), reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Neomycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, stopping bacterial growth. Clotrimazole is an antifungal that disrupts fungal cell wall formation, stopping fungal growth.
Dosage
Dosage: 2-3 drops in the affected ear 2-3 times daily.
Duration: Usually 7-14 days, as directed by the physician.
Not recommended for patients under 12 years of age.
