Pharmacology
Camphor acts as a cough suppressant and topical analgesic, relieving local pain when applied to the skin. The combination of these ingredients reduces pain and inflammation and helps clear mucus from the airways.
Mechanism of action
Camphor and menthol stimulate cold receptors in the skin to relieve pain. Clove Oil and Eucalyptus Oil reduce airway inflammation and clear congestion. Together, these ingredients help relieve pain and congestion.
Dosage
Topical application: Rub gently for 3-4 minutes on the chest and back 2-3 times daily. Cover the rubbed area with warm clothes.
Inhalation: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of ointment in boiling water and inhale the steam by mouth or nose as required.
Note: Do not use in children under 3 years. Avoid use in patients with a history of convulsion.
Administration
For external use only. Do not apply to wounds or damaged skin. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after applying.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose.
