Description
Fenugreek and Gymnema combination is indicated in Type II diabetes and Hyperlipidemia. The antidiabetic properties of Fenugreek seeds are attributed to active substances such as Saponins, Diosgenin, 4-Hydroxyisoleucin, Galactomannan and Trigonelline. Gymnema sylvestre shows positive effects on blood sugar homeostasis, controls sugar cravings and promotes regeneration of pancreas.
Gymnema sylvestre is popularly known as Gurmar for its distinct property as sugar destroyer. The phytoconstituents responsible include Triterpene Saponin known as Gymnemic Acids, Gymnemasaponin and a Polypeptide Gurmarin.

Pharmacology
The antidiabetic properties of Fenugreek seeds are attributed to active substances such as Saponins (50%), Diosgenin, 4-Hydroxyisoleucin, Galactomannan and Trigonelline. Saponins reduce the rate of glucose absorption in the digestive tract, 4-Hydroxyisoleucin stimulates insulin secretion and decreases insulin resistance.
Gymnema sylvestre shows positive effects on blood sugar homeostasis, controls sugar cravings and promotes regeneration of pancreas. It reduces body weight, blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Mechanism of action
Fenugreek reduces glucose absorption and stimulates insulin secretion; Gymnema controls sugar cravings and promotes pancreatic regeneration.
Dosage
Adult Dose:
- 1 capsule 1-3 times before meals or as directed by a physician.
Administration
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. It is better to take it before meals.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible; however, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose.
