Description

Jirakaddarista is a classical combination preparation containing Cumin, Woodfordia, Trachyspermum, Ginger, Clove, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cinnamomum tamala, Mesua ferrea, Nutmeg and Cyperus rotundus. It has carminative, immune enhancing and nutritive properties. Through synergistic combination of digestive stimulation, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant and adaptogenic actions, it helps treat digestive disturbances, flatulence and diarrhea.

Pharmacology

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) contains volatile oil (2-5%), fatty oil (10-15%) and has antimicrobial effect. Trachyspermum ammi is used as a digestive aid and for relieving gas and bloating. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) increases bile secretion and enhances gastrointestinal motility. Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) is used as a carminative and to improve peristalsis. Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) has carminative, stimulant, antifungal and digestive properties.

Mechanism of action

Works through synergistic combination of digestive stimulation, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant and adaptogenic actions.

Dosage

Adult Dose (Oral):

Child Dose (Oral):

  • 1/2-1 teaspoonfuls (2.5-5 ml) 2-3 times per day
