Description
This product contains two types of active ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride are antimicrobials that combat bacteria on the skin that can worsen eczema and prevent infection from scratching. Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate are emollients that soften, moisturize and protect the skin by trapping moisture and restoring normal protective function, preventing skin-drying and irritant effects caused by ordinary soaps and cleansers.

Pharmacology
Benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine dihydrochloride act as antimicrobials to combat skin bacteria. Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate act as emollients to trap moisture and protect the skin.
Mechanism of action
Traps moisture in the skin, combats bacteria, and softens and protects the skin.
Dosage
Adult, Children and Elderly Dose (Topical):
- Apply lotion to affected areas as required
- Massage into the skin until absorbed
- As a soap substitute: Use instead of ordinary soap or shower gel during bath or shower
Administration
- Use only on the skin
- Use regularly and as often as required
- Leave-on application: Apply to affected areas, gently smooth into the skin, allow time for excess to soak in, do not rub vigorously
- Soap substitute: Use instead of ordinary soap, will not foam, pat skin dry with soft towel
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it's almost time for your next application, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Side effects
Rare Side Effects:
- Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat
- Sudden red itchy skin rash (hives)
- Wheezing or breathing difficulty
- Feeling faint or dizzy
- Strange metallic taste in mouth
- Skin redness, irritation and/or itching
Precautions & warnings
- Stop using and seek urgent medical help if signs of serious allergic reaction occur
- Avoid contact with eyes
- Do not use if you have had problems with chlorhexidine-containing products in the past
- Do not smoke or go near naked flames (risk of severe burns)
- Fabric in contact with this product burns more easily
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to benzalkonium chloride, chlorhexidine dihydrochloride, liquid paraffin, isopropyl myristate, or any other ingredients
Drug interactions
This product is not known to affect, or to be affected by, other medicines.
Food interactions
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with this product; consult your doctor.
