Description
This is a sterile, lyophilized powder for injection/infusion containing 9 water-soluble and 3 fat-soluble vitamins. Mixed micelles is used as a solubilizing agent. It is reconstituted with Water for Injections or other parenteral fluids (0.9% Sodium chloride or 5% Dextrose) prior to administration.
Indications
- Daily vitamin maintenance for patients receiving parenteral nutrition
- Surgery, extensive burns, fractures and other trauma
- Severe infectious diseases
- Comatose states
- Increased metabolic demands

Pharmacology
This is a sterile, lyophilized powder for injection/infusion containing 9 water-soluble and 3 fat-soluble vitamins. Mixed micelles is used as a solubilizing agent.
Mechanism of action
Supplies essential vitamins to meet nutritional requirements.
Dosage
Adults and Children ≥11 years:
- 1 vial daily
- Reconstitute with 5 ml Water for Injections or 0.9% Sodium Chloride or 5% Dextrose
- Administer by slow IV injection (at least 10 minutes) or IV infusion
- Use within 24 hours of reconstitution
Administration
- Administered by doctor or nurse IV
- Use immediately after reconstitution
- Discard unused portion
Missed dose
Not generally applicable (scheduled administration); consult doctor if needed.
Side effects
Side Effects:
- Anaphylactic reactions (in patients sensitive to Thiamine)
- Urticaria and rash
- Allergic reactions
Precautions & warnings
- Caution in patients allergic to Thiamine (Vitamin B1) and Nicotinamide
- Sneezing or mild asthma may be warning signs of anaphylactic shock
- Monitor liver function in hepatic disease or cholestasis
- Monitor fat-soluble vitamin levels in renal impairment
Contraindications
- Pre-existing hypervitaminosis
- Hypersensitivity
- Intolerance to Thiamine
- Impaired hepatic function
- Hyperparathyroidism (due to hypercalcemic complications)
Drug interactions
- Caution with drugs binding to α1-acid glycoprotein (propranolol, prazosin, quinidine)
- Folic acid may increase metabolism of some antiepileptics
- Pyridoxine may reduce effect of levodopa
- Bleomycin may be inactivated by ascorbic acid and riboflavin

Use in Pregnancy: Not studied during pregnancy; use only if clearly needed.

Use in lactation
Use in Lactation: Not recommended in lactating women.

Dose established for children ≥11 years.
Geriatric use
Elderly may require dose adjustment.
Renal / hepatic impairment
Renal Impairment: Monitor fat-soluble vitamin levels in kidney disease.
Hepatic Impairment: Monitor liver function in hepatic disease.
Overdose effects
Accumulation of Vitamin A and D may occur with prolonged high doses; symptomatic treatment.
Storage conditions
Before reconstitution: Store below 25°C; protect from light; do not freeze. After reconstitution: Store at 2-8°C for not more than 24 hours.
