Saccharomyces Boulardii acts as a temporary flora in the intestine. It neutralizes bacterial toxins, reduces pathogen adhesion to the intestinal wall, increases brush border enzyme activity, and stimulates the immune system by increasing protective IgA antibodies.

Mechanism of action

Prevents diarrhea by neutralizing toxins, reducing pathogen adhesion, and stimulating immunity.

Dosage

Adult Dose:

  • Antibiotic-associated diarrhea: 250-500 mg 2-4 times daily
  • C. difficile diarrhea: 1 g/day for 4 weeks with antibiotics
  • Acute diarrhea: 250 mg twice daily for 5 days
  • Crohn's disease: 250 mg 3 times daily (up to 9 weeks)
  • IBS: 250 mg twice daily
  • Traveler's diarrhea: 250 mg/day

Pediatric Dose:

  • >3 months: 250 mg twice daily for 5 days
  • <3 months: 125 mg twice daily for 5 days
Administration
  • Take orally
  • Take as directed by a physician
Missed dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible; if almost time for the next dose, skip it; do not double the dose.
