At a glance

Tedizolid Phosphate is an oxazolidinone-class antibacterial used for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) caused by susceptible Gram-positive microorganisms.

Description

Tedizolid Phosphate is a prodrug that is converted by phosphatases to Tedizolid, the microbiologically active moiety. It binds to the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis. It is effective against Gram-positive bacteria including methicillin-resistant and susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA/MSSA).

Indications
  • Acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) – caused by susceptible Gram-positive microorganisms
Therapeutic class

Other Antibacterial Preparations

Pharmacological class
