Calcium Carbonate + Calcium Gluconate + Vitamin-C is an effervescent tablet used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin C deficiency and osteoporosis.
Indications
Treatment of calcium and vitamin C deficiency, osteoporosis, premenstrual syndrome, postmenopausal problems, increased demand for calcium and vitamin C during pregnancy and lactation, periods of rapid growth (childhood, adolescence), old age, during infectious disease and convalescence, adjuvant in colds and influenza.
Dosage
Adults and children above 7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily. Children 3 to 7 years: 1/2 effervescent tablet daily. Or as directed by the physician.
Side effects
Common side effects: Anorexia, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, xerostomia, acid rebound, diarrhea, headache. Rare side effects: Hypercalcemia, hypophosphatemia, hypotension, milk-alkali syndrome.
Precautions & warnings
Patients with mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria should have periodic checks of plasma calcium and urinary calcium excretion. In patients with history of renal stones, urinary calcium excretion should be measured. Monitor serum and urinary calcium and kidney function during long-term treatment. Diabetic patients should consider sugar content.
