Deucravacitinib is a tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) inhibitor used for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.
Indications
- Moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis (adults, candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy)
Dosage
Adult: 6 mg once daily orally, with or without food. Do not crush, cut, or chew the tablets.
Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh C): Not recommended.
Side effects
Common: Upper respiratory infections (common cold, sore throat, sinus infection), herpes simplex (cold sores), aphthous ulcers (canker sores), folliculitis, acne.
Serious: Allergic reactions (angioedema, breathing difficulty, rash, hives).
Precautions & warnings
Avoid use in active or serious infection; evaluate for TB prior to treatment; avoid live vaccines; monitor liver enzymes and triglycerides; discontinue if hypersensitivity occurs; avoid use in severe hepatic impairment.
